Through team building activities, seminars and community service, Save Our Boys and Girls promotes self-esteem, confidence, and motivation, and the ability of participating children to carry out and effect positive change.
A partnership with the Jamaica Defence Force, the Jamaica Constabulary Force, and the Combined Cadet Force will inculcate the principles of willpower, discipline, and strength among participating children. Targeted learning activities will aid children's development of core ethical values: respect, integrity, citizenship, and responsibility.
Save Our Boys and Girls engages highly accomplished professionals as mentors. We operate in partnership with children's homes and schools island wide. The children's homes and schools select at-risk children for participation based on a broad definition of "at-risk" including high poverty, homelessness, abuse, disability, the likelihood of dropping out of high school, becoming involved in gangs, drugs, criminal activity, getting pregnant, or academic, social, behavioral, medical or other risk factors. Mentors and mentees will interact in structured Save Our Boys and Girls activities and settings.
